Andreas Snow

Andreas Schnee (* 20th century) is an Austrian pianist , composer and music teacher .

Career

Andreas Snow visited the Adalbert Stifter Gymnasium (Linz) where he of Balduin Sulzer in music theory and composition was taught and the Matura took off.

This was followed by studies of the main artistic subject “ piano ” with Horst Matthäus as well as “ music theory ” and “ counterpoint ” with Helmut Schiff at the Anton Bruckner Private University (from 1932 to 2004 “Bruckner Conservatory”), where he obtained the state license to teach piano ( instrumental vocal pedagogy, IGP ) received.

He completed another degree in " religious education " at the Philosophical-Theological Faculty in Linz.

At the Mozarteum University in Salzburg , he studied "School Composition" with Ernst Ludwig Leitner and "Piano". The teacher training program for music education graduated Andreas snow with honors diploma examination subjects were "Composition / analysis" at Ernst-Ludwig Leitner and " Polyästhetik " at Wolfgang Roscher .

Organ improvisation seminars at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and with Rupert Gottfried Frieberger in Schlägl Abbey completed the training.

Since then, Andreas Schnee has performed numerous solo and chamber music appearances as a pianist in recitals, excerpts from operas, operettas, musicals and jazz. He has worked with well-known international vocal soloists such as Franz Binder , Valentina Kutzarova , Carmen Barros , Maya Hakvoort , Marta Eggerth and Johannes Heesters . He appears with various ensembles from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy and plays under conductors such as Franz Welser-Möst , Ernst Ludwig Leitner and Stefan Engels . Under his direction there are regular operetta and Musical concerts with the "Salon Ensemble Potpourri", which he founded in 1995.

His compositional activity includes choir, chamber, church, film and ballet music as well as a jazz revue “There is music in all things”. Song compositions, arrangements for various line-ups and orchestral arrangements for musicals round off the compositional activity.

Andreas Schnee is a music educator at the Wilhering Collegiate School and the Adalbert-Stifter-Gymnasium Linz. He is Senior Lecturer ( university lecturer ) at the Mozarteum Salzburg and since September 2008 lecturer for accompaniment at the private conservatory “Sunrise Studios” in Vienna.

In 2018 he participated (organ continuo) at the world premiere of Michael Stenov's Easter oratorio in the parish church of St. Peter in Linz / Spallerhof.
