IC 5131 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E / SB0 in the constellation Piscis Austrinus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 119 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years across.
The galaxies NGC 7130 and NGC 7135 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on September 17, 1897 .
