IC 5115 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Pegasus north of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 494 million light years from the Milky Way and about 55,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Lewis Swift on September 12, 1896 .
