Rosemary "Roma" Downey (born May 6, 1960 in Derry , Northern Ireland ) is a British actress and film producer.

Life and accomplishments

Roma Downey first studied art at Brighton College of Art and graduated with a bachelor's degree. She then enrolled at the renowned London Drama Studio, where she received her acting training. As a stage actress, she played in various classic plays and toured with the ensemble of the Abbey Theater through the United States, where she also played on Broadway . It was here that it was finally discovered for television in 1991. She played Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the award-winning miniseries A Woman Named Jackie , followed by guest appearances on several television series. From 1994 to 2003 Roma Downey starred in the role of the angel Monica in the television series A Touch of Heaven . In the cartoon Adventure in Jerusalem - Jesus and the Animals from 2008, she lent her voice to the hedgehog Petra. In 2013 she was an executive producer on the miniseries The Bible . She also took on a role.

Downey was married in first marriage from 1986 to 1989 with the actor Leland Orser and in the second marriage from 1995 to 1998 with the director David Anspaugh . The second marriage resulted in a child.
