Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on July 19, 2002 that the film "knows women , " "listens to women," and allows women to be real. He is an admonition to the writers of the "superficial" film The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisters .

Kenneth Turan wrote in the Los Angeles Times on June 28, 2002 that the sensitivity of Holofcener was one of the strengths of the "charming" film. There is no other film like this - which you don't hear every day. He shows how people try to build emotional relationships in the self-employed, insecure world. The film, which is made up of “top actors” , involves the viewer because it shows “penetratingly” how people deal with their lives. There are some characters you wouldn't love to love, but the film doesn't give the viewer a choice.

Sophia-Marie H. wrote in the Maastricht Reviev "depressing, without any depth, a film peppered with hesitant women who now God knows no potential for identification .... A waste of time in its purest form."
