Catherine Keener
Catherine Keener (born March 23, 1959 in Miami , Florida ) is an American actress .
life and career
Keener attended the Catholic Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Miami, after which she studied English and history at Wheaton College in Massachusetts until 1983 .
Keener starred in numerous films, including 1998 in Out of Sight alongside Jennifer Lopez , George Clooney , Dennis Farina and Michael Keaton . In 2000 she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Being John Malkovich . In the film Voll Frontal by Steven Soderbergh (2002), David Duchovny and Julia Roberts were her film partners. Keener often takes on roles in independent films . In 2005 she appeared in Capote as the writer Harper Lee alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman . For this performance she was again nominated for an Oscar for best supporting actress in 2006. Keener is also frequently seen in television roles. She played guest roles in series such as Seinfeld , LA Law and Ohara . She also appeared in the television films House of Silent Screams , Curse of the Com People , Journeys North and Heroine of Hell .
Keener was married to Dermot Mulroney from 1990 , with whom she has a son. The marriage was divorced in 2007.
