James LeGros (born April 27, 1962 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is an American actor .

Life

LeGros first performed at the South Coast Repertory Theater . In the mid-1980s he played a few roles in television series ; in 1987 he appeared in the comedy True Men alongside James Belushi and John Ritter . In the 1991 action film, Dangerous Surf , he starred alongside Patrick Swayze , Keanu Reeves and Gary Busey . He starred in the 1994 western Bad Girls alongside Madeleine Stowe , Mary Stuart Masterson , Andie MacDowell and Drew Barrymore . He was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in 1996 for his role in the comedy Living in Oblivion , in which he starred alongside Steve Buscemi , Catherine Keener and Dermot Mulroney in 1995 .

From 2000 to 2001 he appeared in the television series Ally McBeal . For this role he was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2001. He starred in the 2002 television drama Damaged Care in a leading role alongside Laura Dern and Diane Ladd . In the drama November 2004 he played one of the leading roles alongside Courteney Cox .

LeGros has been married to actress Kristina Loggia since 1992 , with whom he has two children.
