Christoph Uleer

Johannes Christoph Uleer (born January 24, 1937 in Merschwitz , Saxony ) is a German lawyer. From 2001 to 2014 he was chairman of the board of the German AIDS Foundation .

Life

After graduating from high school in Hildesheim, Christoph Uleer studied law at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau and Würzburg . In Freiburg he became a member of the KDSt.V. Wildenstein Freiburg im Breisgau im CV and later he also joined the KDSt.V. Gothia Würzburg in the CV. He passed both state exams in Bavaria . He started his professional life from 1967 to 1969 as an assistant to the CDU social politician Thomas Ruf MdB, Esslingen. From 1969 to 1971 he was federal manager of the medium-sized and business association of the CDU / CSU. In 1971 he was appointed director of the Association of Private Health Insurance eV (PKV-Verband), Cologne, and in 1976 he was also elected its executive board member. After Medicproof GmbH was founded as a medical service to assess the need for care of the privately insured in the course of the introduction of the statutory long-term care insurance , he also took over the management of this subsidiary of the PKV Association in 1996. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Society for Insurance Science and Design. V., Cologne. For reasons of age, he gave up his functions in the PKV-Verband and in the GVG on July 1st, 2002, and the management of Medicproof GmbH on July 1st, 2005. From July 1, 2001 to December 31, 2014, Christoph Uleer was honorary chairman of the board of the German AIDS Foundation , Bonn. He has been a board member of the foundation since 2015. As early as 1987, as a representative of the PKV, he was one of the initiators of the National AIDS Foundation, one of the two foundations that merged in 1996 to form the German AIDS Foundation.

The Federal President awarded Christoph Uleer the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1997 and the Federal Cross of Merit First Class in 2005.
