Fear the Walking Dead (German about fear the walking dead ) is an American horror series that was developed by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson . It is a spin-off of the television series The Walking Dead and, unlike the other, is not based on the comic series of the same name , but has created completely new characters for the action in Los Angeles. The action begins a few weeks before the mother series, when civilization is still intact and there are only a few biter attacks.

The first season aired in the United States on August 23, 2015. The series currently has five seasons. The fourth season aired on AMC from April 15, 2018 to September 30, 2018. One day later, Prime Video began with the German-language publication, it lasted until October 1, 2018. On July 28, 2018, the broadcaster AMC announced the extension of the series by a fifth season. The first broadcast of the fifth season took place from June 2, 2019. In July 2019, the series was extended for a sixth season.

action

As in the original series, the central plot element of the series is the outbreak of a virus and the associated apocalypse of zombies . The series takes place at the beginning of the zombie virus outbreak, i.e. before the mother series The Walking Dead , but is not intended as a prehistory, but rather as a parallel plot.

season 1

The first season takes place in Los Angeles . The focus of the story is on a blended family and their problems, which are exacerbated with the outbreak of the apocalypse, as well as disputes with the military, which ensures order inside and outside the security zone. The main characters manage to escape to the coast in the safe villa of Victor Strand. At first he had only thought of saving himself on his ship, but lets himself be persuaded to take everyone with him.

season 2

In season two, with the help of Victor, the families manage to escape on his ship, the Abigail. They flee from Los Angeles across the ocean to Baja in Mexico, where Victor Strand organized a shelter from the apocalypse. His partner, Thomas Abigail, lives there with his Mexican foster mother, Celia Floris. This has a special relationship with the undead. She believes in voodoo and that the undead have entered an "intermediate world". They are not dead or infected. She holds the undead in the basement and feeds them with animals. Thomas becomes infected and ill before Victor arrives. Victor still manages to say goodbye to him and shoots him after his death before he can transform. Thereupon Celia banishes Victor from her property.

Madison tries to understand Celia's view of the undead, but fails and locks them in the basement with them. Daniel Salazar seems to be losing his mind. He sees his dead wife, she detests what goes on in the basement. Daniel tells Celia that this is against the Church and against God and advises Victor not to bury Thomas on the unconsecrated ground. Ultimately, he sets fire to the cellar and the undead. Celia is also in it thanks to Madison.

Nick doesn't fear the undead either and shares Celia's view. After he realizes that Celia is no longer there, he separates from the rest of the family / group. He meets a barricaded group in a Mexican city. When their settlement is conquered by villains, he escapes with the survivors to the American border and is ambushed there.

Travis and Christopher need time to themselves after the death of their mother and all events and separate from the others. They meet Brandon and Derek. Since Chris no longer feels connected to his father after all, he makes the decision to go to San Diego alone with Brandon and Derek.

Madison, Alicia, Victor and Ofelia flee to the boat again after the fire and arrive at a beach hotel. Together with survivors of a wedding party , they cleanse it of the undead. Travis later also reaches the hotel. Brandon and Derek also get to the hotel - without Chris. After Travis learns that they killed Chris, he kills them. This escalates the situation in the hotel, causing Madison to leave it with Alicia and Travis. You go in search of Nick and thus also towards the American border.

season 3

Madison and her family are captured by a militia led by Troy Otto. Troy turns out to be some sort of sadist or sociopath who conducts lethal experiments on the prisoners. The family nevertheless manages to overpower the soldiers. Chaos breaks out and the camp has to be abandoned. Madison and Nick are taken by the soldiers in the truck, while Travis, Alicia and Luciana find space in the helicopter. The goal is the main camp, the Otto ranch.

During the approach, the helicopter is shot down by an indigenous group. Travis does not survive the attack, while Alicia makes it back to camp. In the course of the next episodes, the conflict with the indigenous people led by Walker escalates. The main reason seems to be the dark past that the camp founder Jeremiah Otto is hiding. In episode 8, the head of Otto is given to the Indians by Madison, so that peace can now reign. When the tribe moved to the ranch, tensions quickly returned.

In the meantime, Strand meets Salazar again. Salazar helps Victor Strand escape captivity. But because Victor Strand does not know exactly where Daniel Salazar's daughter is, contrary to what is stated, this group breaks up again.

After the ranch runs out of drinking water, Madison and Walker go looking for water. They meet Victor at a market and later on Daniel at the dam, where they can trade water for weapons. The ranch is meanwhile overrun by a huge horde of undead.

characters

Madison Clark

Madison Clark, sometimes affectionately known as Maddie, is a widow and tutor in the same high school as Travis with whom she has a relationship. She has two children, Alicia and Nick, from their first marriage. Madison is intelligent and willing to the point where she becomes powerful at times. She seems to be adapting quickly to the new world that she, her family and friends live in. Madison likes to be in control of situations and tends to feel tense and powerless in disagreements with others or in situations she is big on. Although she usually exhibits persistent behavior, Madison often becomes anxious and insecure when the people she cares about (especially her family) are in danger. She showed a ruthlessly dark and callous side when she locked up Celia Flores with the infected and showed readiness to evict two refugees (Derek and Brandon), one of whom was even wounded, to keep up the illusion of hope for her friend Travis.

Nicholas Clark

19-year-old Nicholas Clark, also known as Nick, is Madison's son from his first marriage. He became addicted to drugs again after the death of his father and had tried several times with no success before the apocalypse began. Because of this, he feels guilty about his mother and sister, Alicia. After using heroin in a church, he wakes up to see his girlfriend turned into an undead eat the flesh of dead people. He escapes from the building in shock and is hit by a car. In the hospital, he initially thinks himself crazy. Because Travis believes him, he begins to accept his mother's new life partner as a father figure. In self-defense he kills the drug dealer Calvin. Nick then saves his mother and stepfather's lives by running over the transformed Calvin. In contrast to the rest of his family, he then realizes that the walkers are dead and no longer human. While Madison tries to slowly wean him from his heroin addiction, he secretly steals medication. When a doctor noticed Nick's continued drug use, the military abducted him. With the help of his fellow inmate Victor Strand, Nick escapes from the cells of a military base and finds his family again. After they have built a new home in an old stadium together with other allies, there are disputes with the Vultures. In season four, Nick is shot dead by Charlie, a young girl from the Vultures.

Alicia Clark

Alicia Clark, also called Licia by her family, is the 17-year-old daughter from Madison's first marriage. Initially, compared to her older brother, Nick, she is an exemplary student with set goals looking to graduate so she can go to college outside of Los Angeles. However, her boyfriend Matt Sale is bitten and convinces her to leave him with her family. Although she openly shows her anger to Nick, she takes care of her brother and tries to help him wean him from his drug addiction. After the collapse of civilization, she befriends her stepbrother Christopher. When it comes to a confrontation with the Diaz family in the beach hotel, Alicia stabs Andrés and thereby saves Travis' life. Alicia begins a relationship with Jake at the Otto ranch. While the ranch is overrun by the undead, she helps numerous residents to save themselves to the storeroom of the site. Because oxygen is becoming increasingly scarce there, she asks each person bitten to voluntarily sacrifice himself for the others. Alicia kills the infected ranch residents who previously consented to this euthanasia. Afterwards, however, the other roommates also die in the closed pantry due to the lack of oxygen and transform, which is why Alicia is the only survivor there in the end. After this traumatic experience and Jake's death, Alicia eventually leaves her family believing that her mother's intrigues will destroy every place. Together with the loner Diana, she is forced by the warden John to go to the dam. There she meets the survivors of her group again and flees with Madison while Nick destroys the dam.

Travis Manawa

Before the apocalypse broke out, Travis Manawa was a literary teacher at Paul R. Williams High School in El Sereno and shares custody of his biological son Christopher with his ex-wife Liza. He also tries to take responsibility for the children of his colleague and new life partner Madison Clark. Travis is initially a staunch pacifist and loathes weapons. When he sees how the drug dealer Calvin, who was killed by Nick, has transformed, he wants to bring his two families together and protect them. After the released soldier Andy Adams shoots Ofelia, he freaks out and brutally beats Adams up. At the end of season 1, he learns that his ex-girlfriend was bitten by an undead. At Liza's request, Travis shoots her. In the second half of Season 2, his son Chris leaves the group and goes with another group, led by Brandon. At the end of Season 2, Travis meets Brandon's group at the hotel and discovers that they have killed Chris after being injured. He kills her. He wants to go back to the USA with Madison and Alicia because they cannot stay at the hotel. At the border, they are captured by Troy's paramilitaries. After he escapes being killed by Troy's perverse research experiments and chaos in the camp forces everyone to leave, he flies with the helicopter that is shot down by Walker's tribal brothers. He suffers fatal gunshot wounds and plunges into the depths.

Christopher Manawa

Christopher Manawa, also called Chris, is the 16-year-old son of Travis and Liza. He blames his father for his parents' divorce and therefore does not speak well of them. At the end of the first season he lost his mother. In the second half of Season 2, he and his father split up with his stepmother and step-siblings and meet a group led by a man named Brandon. At the end of the second season, Chris causes a car accident in which he injured his leg and is then shot by Brandon. Travis kills Brandon and his brother in revenge.

Elizabeth Ortiz

Elizabeth Ortiz, also called Liza, is Travis' ex-wife and is in her late 30s. She has a son with Travis, Christopher, and is training to be a nurse. She is taken to a military base with Griselda Salazar and Nick to look after the injured and sick. When Travis and the rest of the group pick her and Nick up, she is bitten by a walker. She tells Madison and Travis at Strand's house about it and asks Travis to shoot her so she doesn't transform. Before that, she tells him that everyone will come back, no matter how they die. At the beginning of the second season, her body was thrown into the sea.

Daniel Salazar

Daniel Salazar is the father of Ofelia. He is a hairdresser who fled El Salvador to Los Angeles with his wife Griselda . During the war, he witnessed brutal torture methods and crossed moral boundaries himself in order to survive. Only Griselda convinces him to protect Travis in his hair salon while chaos breaks out on the streets. Because he doesn't believe that Travis is strong enough to survive, he wants to go separate ways after escaping to his house. Daniel tortures Ofelia's friend Andy Adams to learn the military's secret plans to rescue his injured wife and Nick from a military base. He releases a large herd of caged walkers, thus distracting the soldiers in the base. There, however, Daniel finally learns of his wife's death.

Ofelia Salazar

Ofelia Salazar is the daughter of Daniel and Griselda, who was born and raised in the USA and wants to protect her immigrant parents. After she leaves the group, she is taken in by Walker and his tribe. Later she is bitten by a zombie and finally released by her father.

Victor Beach

Victor Strand, who is usually addressed by his last name, meets Nick in a military prison. He sees "great potential" in Nick and then decides to flee with him and his family to his house by the sea in order to escape from there with his yacht. Strand kept the others in the dark about his plans for a long time until it was discovered that he had organized a shelter in Baja, Mexico, to get to safety and meet Thomas Abigail there.

Alex

Alex is the last survivor of Flight 462 . There had been four of them in the first half of Season 2. Two of them died before Alex and Jake Powell met Travis' group. Victor didn't want them on his ship, so they both had to stay in the dinghy. But they were pulled by the Abigail through a rope until Victor cut it. Two episodes later, after Travis is captured by Connor's pirates, Alex arrives in prison. She blamed Travis for killing Jake Powell and that she almost died by the time Connor and his pirates found her. After the group escaped, they stayed with the pirates. Your current status is unknown.

Luciana Galvez

Luciana Galvez, nicknamed Lucy, is Nick's friend, whom he meets in an isolated Mexican community. When the settlement has to be abandoned, she and Nick flee to the American border, where they are seized by Troy's paramilitaries. She is badly injured. Because of their origin, they don't want to be accepted at the ranch. After she heals, she tries to convince Nick to move on. But Nick wants to try it on site and so she secretly leaves him at night and only leaves a farewell letter. She is now reunited with the group.

Troy Otto

Troy Otto is the sociopathic son of Jeremiah Otto Sr., who was withdrawn from school early because of his abnormalities. He leads the paramilitary. In the camp on the border he had countless people killed just to measure the time it took to transform. When the Trimbol family leaves the ranch to avoid Walker's attack, he follows them and kills them. Despite knowing the truth, Madison hides it from the ranch community, saying that Troy is a necessary evil to protect the ranch. Later it also becomes clear to Alicia and Nick who killed the Trimbols. After his father dies, Troy cannot accept Walker's tribe to move to the ranch. Because he holed up armed, he is banished from the ranch. In revenge, Troy lures a huge horde of undead to the ranch and loses his brother outside the ranch. When Madison and Taqa return to the ranch, Nick does not tell who attracted the horde. At "El Bazar" Nick got the opportunity to take drugs again. When Nick wanted Troy to take it too, Troy didn't want to at first, but then took the drug anyway. After Ofelia's death, the group wants to go to the dam, but Nick and Troy don't want to go and stay at the bazaar. Troy learns at the bazaar that the gang "The Overseers" want to attack the dam in order to take it. Troy and Nick drive to the dam and tell Madison and the others about the attack. After the decision was made to blow up the dam if necessary, Troy and Madison place the explosives. When Nick later came and mentions that Troy shouldn't go to Daniel because he wants to kill him, Madison learns the truth of who lured the Horde to the ranch. While Troy is justifying himself to Madison, Madison hits his head twice with a hammer and kills him with it.

Jeremiah "Jake" Otto Jr.

Jeremiah Otto Jr., also known as Jake, is the well-educated, older half-brother of Troy. He watches over Troy and tries again and again to calm him down. So he can save Madison's family from death in the border camp. He starts a relationship with Alicia at the ranch. He tries to find a diplomatic solution with Walker. When his father died, Jake became the ranch leader. He had Walker and his tribe move to the ranch and gave him the second key to the food and armory. After Terrance tried to shoot Crazy Dog, Jake reluctantly had to give up the second key. When his brother Troy is exiled, Jake threatens his brother not to come back, and if he does, he will kill him. After Troy lures a huge horde of undead to the ranch in revenge for his banishment, Nick tries to prevent Jake from shooting Troy. Nick hits Jake on the back of the head, causing him to slide down a hill and then get bitten in the forearm by an undead. Troy and Nick prevented his infection by severing his arm, but he later died from the high blood loss. When he came back infected , he was redeemed by Troy.

Jeremiah Otto Sr.

Jeremiah Otto is the father of Troy and Jake. He is a racist and, as a doomsday fanatic, had amassed enough supplies with his community on his ranch before the apocalypse, as he feared the decline of democracy. The land used to belong to Walker's tribe, who are claiming it back. Jeremiah had killed Walker's father. To make peace with Walker, Nick shoots him. He and Madison make it look like suicide and they give Walker his severed head.

Lola Guerrero

Lola Guerrero is a worker on the Gonzalez Dam, which was taken over by Dante Esquivel and his men. She tries to help the local people by delivering water. Here she meets the injured Daniel Salazar. When Daniel later shows up at the dam, she gives him a job with Dante, for which he is said to be silent about her help for the community. After this is discovered anyway, Lola and others are supposed to be pushed to her death by the dam. Daniel shoots Dante and his followers at the last moment, saving Lola's life. After Dante's death, Lola takes over the management of the Gonzalez Dam. Lola struggles to keep control of the dam because many believe Lola and the others killed Dante to take over the dam. At some point handguns come into play, which is why Daniel tries to persuade Lola to get guns. When Victor leads Madison and Taqa to the dam, the two make Lola an offer to swap water for enough weapons. However, Lola does not accept the offer. Daniel tries to persuade her, but Lola remains stubborn. Later Victor had an idea. He had a tank truck blown up with Daniel. When Lola arrives and asks how it happened, Daniel says that it was the people who get water and that they will do it again until the water queen, Lola's nickname, is dead. Daniel mentions again that they need weapons to prevent this from happening. Since Lola sees this, she accepts Madison's offer. When the rest of the ranch survivors come to the dam, Nick and Troy arrive a day later, but only to warn everyone that the gang "The Overseers", led by Overseer John, want to attack the dam to take it over . To prevent this, everyone wants to blow the dam. It is later revealed that Victor has made a deal with the gang. He threatens Lola and Daniel to run away, but a fight breaks out between Daniel and Victor. Victor accidentally shoots Daniel's left cheek, causing Daniel to briefly pass out. They both run away and hide temporarily. Lola wants to leave Daniel behind briefly to get Efraín. However, she finds Efraín dead. Lola is furious and wants revenge for her boyfriend, but she is prevented by warden John because he first shoots Lola in the back and then in the head.

Morgan Jones

Morgan Jones is a survivor from King County, Georgia. There he lost his wife Jenny and his son Duane. Months later he went out of town to look for Rick. At some point he found it. He lived first in Alexandria, then in the kingdom. Morgan was part of the military that declared war on Negan and the Saviors. When they won the war, Morgan just wanted to be alone and went to the junkyard where the Scavengers used to live. Some time later he left for Texas. On the way, Morgan meets the former police officer John Dorie and later the reporter Althea. The trio also meets Alicia, Victor, Nicholas and Luciana. Alicia's group finds a flag from the Vultures in Althea's truck. Morgan and the other two tell the group that they are not part of the Vultures. Althea therefore makes a deal with the group. She brings the group to the place where the flag came from, so she wants to interview the four. When Althea was able to free herself in the truck, she tells Luciana to stop the truck. She crashes into a small zombie horde on purpose and strays off the street. Morgan, John and Althea manage to capture the four. When Althea tried to drive the truck back up, it got stuck in the mud. So that everyone can continue on their way, Althea, John, Victor, Alicia and Luciana go and look for another car so that they can get the truck out of the mud. Morgan stays behind with Nicholas chained to keep the other three from faxing. After the others are gone for a while, Morgan frees Nicholas and goes out into the street to exercise with his stick. He spots a car from far away. Morgan goes downstairs to Nicholas and they both hide in the truck. Nicholas looks out of the truck and sees the car driving by. Nicholas recognized the car and is following it. Morgan pursues Nicholas. When Nicholas kills the enemy, Morgan gives Nicholas a little book that he himself got from a man named Eastman. When Althea and the others catch up with them, Nicholas is shot by a little girl named Charlie. Later, in a different place, Nicholas is buried. When Alicia, Victor and Luciana load their things into the truck, John finds his girlfriend's backpack. When he learns that she was killed by the Vultures, John doesn't believe it and sets off to look for her. Morgan accompanies John. The others go to a meeting point to turn off the Vultures.

John Dorie

John Dorie was a police officer before the apocalypse and also appeared as a trick shooter in Wild West shows. He and his girlfriend "Laura", who is actually called June, separated shortly after he confessed his love to her, in which she informed him in a kind of farewell letter that she also loved him. After wandering around alone for many months, John meets Morgan. Basically he wants to be alone, but John accompanies him anyway. When the two encounter Leland's group and are threatened by them, a woman named Althea ("Al") appears and saves the two. Later, the three meet Alicia's group. At first, Alicia, Luciana, Victor and Nick think they are members of the Vultures because Al has a flag of the Vultures. After Nick's death and funeral, John finds his girlfriend's backpack "Laura" with Alicia and the others. He then asks her to tell him where she is. Alicia tells John that she was killed by the Vultures. John does not want to admit this and sets out to look for her. Morgan accompanies him. Later, the two meet Alicia's group at the agreed meeting point of the Vultures, which John and Morgan found out about a Vulture while searching for Laura. She wants to ambush the Vultures there to seek revenge. Confused about the situation, Alicia and her friends turn guns on the two because they now assume that John and Morgan belong to the Vultures again. A little later the "real" Vultures are added. Naomi, who is thought to be dead, also arrives there shortly afterwards. John walks towards them, but shortly before he reaches them, the angry Alicia fires a shot in the direction of the two, and John goes down, hit. Whether he survived is open.

Althea

Althea, also known as Al, was a reporter before the apocalypse. She continues this job now and asks everyone she meets for an interview. When Morgan and John are threatened by Leland's group, Althea appears, saves their lives and takes them away. Althea wants to help John find his girlfriend Laura. They later meet Alicia's group. In Althea's truck she finds a flag with a number that comes from the Vultures. The group thinks the three are members of the Vultures, but they deny it. Althea made a deal with the group. She brings the group to the place where the flag came from, so she wants to do an interview with everyone. After Nicholas dies, Althea, John and Morgan learn who the Vultures are and what happened. After the funeral, John finds his girlfriend's backpack with Alicia's group. Upon learning that his girlfriend was killed by the Vultures, John goes his own way to find her because he doesn't believe she is dead. Althea goes with Alicia's group and wants to help take down the Vultures.

June

June, also known by the pen name Naomi or Laura, was a nurse before the apocalypse. She met former police officer John Dorie after the apocalypse. June was injured, so John let her into his hut and tended her wounds. John calls June Laura because she didn't want to say her name. A day later she wanted to run away with John's truck, but the battery was dead. John offers June provisions before she leaves. She kept John at a distance and over time they got to know each other more and more. June tells John that she lost her child back then. John reveals to June that he was a police officer and that he no longer uses his guns because he killed a person during an operation. But when June is attacked by the undead, John takes his weapons in his hands and saves June's life. When John confesses his love for June, she kisses him. The next day she disappeared and left John a message made of Scrabble bricks. She apologizes and also reveals to John that she fell in love with John. Many months have passed and June's friend John is looking for her. June later meets Madison and Co. When Madison trusts her, she goes with her. Madison and her family, as well as friends and other people, live in a ballpark. When a group called the Vultures set up camp in front of the stadium and demand that everyone leave the stadium, the little girl named Charlie also reveals that she is a spy for the Vultures. The days go by and June cannot integrate into the group and wants to leave, but Madison convinces her to stay here. When Alicia and June are also out looking for food and other useful items, they both find a former leisure pool. On a tower by a water slide, the two find things for first aid. June distracts Alicia with binoculars and wanted to run away again, but Alicia was able to convince her to stay in the group and they both drive back. In the present, John finds his girlfriend's backpack. When he asks Alicia and the others about her, Alicia tells that she was killed by the Vultures. It later turns out that June is still alive after all. June has now hiked over to the Vultures. When the Vultures arrive at the meeting point, Alicia's group is already waiting. John notices his girlfriend and walks over to her. Alicia wants to shoot the "traitorous" June, but John intervenes, but too late and Alicia shoots John in the right chest. When June runs to the ambulance to wound John's injury, Melvin runs away with it, but Alicia shoots the vehicle down with a grenade launcher. The vehicle explodes and all essential items for treatment have been lost. When Morgan convinces Al to help, Al saves June's life from Alicia. Morgan and June bring the injured John to Al's vehicle. Before the four leave, Morgan convinces Charlie to join them too. Al asks June where she is going. June tells her that she wants to look at the stadium because she thinks her former infirmary is still standing. When Al drives into the stadium, they are surrounded by the undead. Thanks to Als Van, she was able to kill many infected people . June and Morgan go to the infirmary and collect the essentials for John's treatment. Alicia's group later also reaches the stadium. Morgan was able to convince Alicia not to kill June. June returned to John and saves his life. At a campfire, Alicia's group and June Al tell the story of what happened at the ballpark. It turns out everyone who was in the stadium, Madison among them, was killed. Alicia and Co. also believed June was killed. June reveals that she wasn't there when she was attacked. She says she was looking for supplies and when she came back the ballpark was already burned and overrun with the undead. June also thought Alicia, Victor, and Luciana died, which is why she later joined the Vultures.

Fear the Walking Dead: Passage

Between the second and third season, a second 16-part web series was published from October 17, 2016. The episodes ran in a commercial break of the seventh season of The Walking Dead and are available online. The web series was produced by Dave Erickson . Like the first web series, the script was written by Lauren Signorino and Mike Zunic . Directed by Andrew Bernstein .

The web series is about Sierra, who meets the injured Gabi on an apparently abandoned military base. Gabi convinces her that Sierra will help her. To do this, she shows Sierra a tunnel under the Mexican-American border that leads her to a refuge. Gabi knows this tunnel through her friend Colton. At the tunnel entrance, the two meet Colton. Gabi is the first to climb into the tunnel and leaves the other two behind at the entrance. Colton now suddenly points his pistol at Sierra, because he could not allow her to tell others about this path. Sierra is able to overpower him by stabbing him in the leg and climb into the tunnel. There she tells Gabi what happened. After a few steps in the tunnel, Sierra triggers a booby trap with a tripwire. Colton can grab Gabi in the confusion. Sierra escapes alone and hides in a mine car. Gabi asks Colton to let Sierra go, but he replies that he must find her before the others do. When the two meet a border guard in the tunnel, Colton hides Gabi and lies to him that he does not know how the booby trap was triggered. Gabi confronts him with his lie. He tells her that this is not just a tunnel but also a bunker. The two get into an argument and threaten each other with their weapons. Meanwhile, Sierra is able to distract the border guard and another with the mine car, whereby the two are torn to pieces by the undead. Then she can approach Colton, who is still arguing with Gabi, from behind and choke him, whereupon Gabi rams a knife into his chest. While Colton calls after the two of them, they flee to the tunnel exit. In the end, Gabi and Sierra are on a hill in Mexico. Encouraging each other, they take each other by the hand.

reception

The serial junkies critic Adam Arndt awarded 3 out of 5 stars for the pilot episode. In his review he wrote the following:

“The pilot of Fear the Walking Dead is leisurely and calmly. As promised in advance, the undead do not play a major role for the time being. Instead, the series is much more geared towards family conflicts, which could either be exciting or quickly exhausting. The pace is welcome to pick up a little more in the future, but now that the most important relationships and basic rules have been established. Not a blast, but also not a huge blow. "

- Adam Arndt : Serienjunkies.de

The series received a score of 76 percent positive reviews on the Internet portal Rotten Tomatoes . In relation to the public opinion, however, the value is only 58 percent.
