Kevin Joseph Zegers (born September 19, 1984 in St. Marys , Ontario , Canada ) is a Canadian actor . He was best known for the Air Bud films and his role in Transamerica .

Zegers was born in the small town of St. Marys in the Canadian province of Ontario to Jim and Mary Ellen Zegers and grew up in Woodstock, Ontario . He has two younger sisters: Katie Zegers, who is also an actress, and Krista . In addition to his work as an actor, Zegers occasionally works as a photo model .

In April 2013, Zegers got engaged to his girlfriend Jaime Feld after six years of relationship. The two married in August 2013. In August 2015, the two parents of twin girls.

Career

After various commercials, Zegers made the film Help! Everyone's the greatest where he played the younger version of Michael Chapman ( Michael J. Fox ). Smaller roles in various productions followed, but it was only with the Air Bud series that he gained greater popularity. More family films followed. In 1999 he played the boy Jim Hawkins in the film Horror of the Caribbean - Treasure Island at the side of Jack Palance and in 2000 he played Nastassja Kinski's son in the family comedy Time Share .

As he grew out of the children's roles, Zeger took on a number of roles in horror films, which were rated rather average. In 1998 he played a stigmatized boy in Shadowbuilder (based on a novel by Bram Stoker ) . In 2002 he was seen in Fear of the Dark , followed in 2003 by Wrong Turn , and in 2004 The Hollow , a sequel to Sleepy Hollow , but based more on the short story by Washington Irving on which the film is based; other leading actors in this film were Nick Carter and Stacy Keach . He also played a supporting role in Dawn of the Dead .

That Zegers can also master more serious roles, he already showed in 1998 in Four Days , as well as in Transamerica , with which he made his breakthrough in 2005. There he played the son of a transsexual woman.

In addition to feature films and television films, Kevin Zegers has now made guest appearances in more than a dozen different television series (including the X-Files - The FBI's Scary Cases , Smallville , Gossip Girl, and House Doctor ). His work includes more than 70 productions.

Kevin Zegers has been advertising a perfume since April 2007.

He also starred in 2010 in the music video for The Big Bang by the band Rockmafia on the side of Miley Cyrus .

In 2013 he got the role of Alec Lightwood in the Chronicles of the Underworld - City of Bones .
