Robert Kirkman (born November 30, 1978 in Richmond , Kentucky ) is an American comic and film writer.

Career

Kirkman founded the comic book publisher Funk-O-Tron and brought out his self-written series Battle Pope with 13 parts. He developed the series together with Tony Moore . In 2002 the comic book publisher Image Comics offered Kirkman to develop the mini-series SuperPatriot: America's Fighting Force together with Corey Walker . This was followed by Tech Jacket . The hero Invincible from the first issue got his own series at Image Comics, the author of which was Kirkman. A 19-part cartoon series was produced from the series in 2008. In October 2003 the first number of The Walking Dead was released on Halloween . Tony Moore helped him with the preparations. In 2004, Kirkman began working as a freelance writer for Marvel Comics . This work ended in 2010 after becoming a full partner at Image Comics. In Germany, the Ludwigsburg comic publisher Cross Cult is responsible for the distribution of The Walking Dead and Outcast. As a novelist, he published a series of novels with Jay Bonansinga beginning with The Walking Dead .

In 2010 he was nominated for the Scream Award in the Best Comic Book Writer category. In 2012 he won the Saturn Award in the Innovator Award category . .
