Michael Hansonis

Michael Hansonis (born August 11, 1960 in Cologne ) is a German musician, songwriter and actor.

Life

His earliest musical influences include Marc Bolan , John Lee Hooker and Bob Dylan . He made his first experiences as a street musician, and in the early 80s as a session musician in the occupied Stollwerck chocolate factory in Cologne. In 1985 he became the singer of the pop group Les Immer Essen . The band released only one album, "Tally Ho," and achieved a Top 40 ranking with the single Hand-Take. In 1988 Hansonis founded the independent rock band King Candy and released four albums by 1994. The band has toured several times with the Australian indie band Go-Betweens , whose member Robert Forster covered Hansonis' song Bird on his solo album "I Had a New York Girlfriend" in 1992. Hansonis also writes German texts and songs, including the music for Gunter Gabriel's title track for the album “Son from the People”. In the 1990s, he turned to the theater after studying drama privately. Until 2002 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Horizont Theater in Cologne. In 2004 he released his highly acclaimed album "Drink And Drive With Dylan Thomas" with texts by the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas . Michael Hansonis also works as an audio book speaker.
