King Candy is a German Independent - band of the 1980s and 1990s. It was the successor to Les Immer Essen .

occupation

After Les Immer Essen was dissolved, Michael Hansonis (guitar, vocals) founded the band King Candy with Markus Richter ( bass ), Gerd Paris ( drums ), Bernhard Lösener ( keyboard ) and Eas Hoppmann ( saxophone ). The band was able to secure a recording contract with Day-Glo Records and released their debut album Animal Eaters there in 1989 . Happy Garden was released in 1990 and the album Chloé in 1992 . Despite good reviews, especially in her hometown of Cologne, and a cover version of Bird by Robert Foster ( The Go-Betweens ), there was never a commercial breakthrough. Hansonis, not satisfied with the musical career and the advancement of his musical skills, disbanded the band in 1995. Today he no longer knows the exact motives.

In fact, he initially worked as a sound engineer at the Cologne theater. From there he began an acting career and didn't release music again until almost 10 years later.
