Nick Forsberg

Nick Forsberg (born September 23, 1985 in Berlin ) is a German voice actor , musician , lyricist and DJ .

Life

His parents are bassist Peer Forsberg and Denise Gorzelanny . Growing up in West Berlin among the children of American soldiers, he developed a close relationship with hip-hop and rap and the American sports and music culture in his neighborhood at an early age .

At a casting , he was eleven for the voice of the main character Presley Carnovan in the animated series Mummies Alive! selected, which was broadcast on Super RTL from 1997 to 2000 .

Together with Heiko Schaffartzik , he played basketball for the youth team of TuS Lichterfelde , as well as for the 1984/85 youth team of the Berlin Basketball Association. After a season at Spencer Van Etten High School in New York , he retired from basketball in 2003.

He began to cooperate with various artists in Berlin and to produce music under the pseudonym DAMN , among others with the rapper Taichi , who was involved on his first album Hier & Jetzt on the track NKSB .

He has been playing basketball for TuS Neukölln 1865 since 2010 .

Nick Forsberg voiced his voice as voice actor Justin Berfield as Reese in Malcolm in the Middle and Shawn Pyfrom as Andrew Van De Kamp in Desperate Housewives . As a musician and live artist, Forsberg performed as a rapper across Germany, especially between 2003 and 2007, and was on stage with Felix M. Lehrmann and in the opening act for Kool Savas and Too Strong . During this period he released two solo albums under the pseudonym DAMN , Hier & Jetzt (2004) and Damnolition Man (2006), which were distributed in Germany, Switzerland and Austria by the independent label Evilmama and in cooperation with Rough Trade .

In 2005 he was presented as an artist on Rap City Berlin DVD 1 and in 2006 he took second place at the Battle EOW - End of the Weak in Berlin. At the same time, he was involved as an artist in the annual musicians' workshop of the youth organization HDJ Zehlendorf , where he also supported the youth theater project by writing texts and producing songs for a new production of Don Quixote .

After a musical creative break, which he spent working in South Africa in 2007, he separated from Evilmama on his return to Berlin and placed greater emphasis on the production aspect of his music. As a result, he released the instrumental album Lovest Nahrungsmittelals in the same year . After a longer phase of experimentation in independent band projects and in other music genres, his mixtape Nachts Wach was released in 2011 , which focused back on rap and on the vocal and lyrical aspects.

In 2012 the album Vodka Hour was released , which musically distinguishes itself audibly from all previous productions and can be assigned to the genre House . Since 2012, Nick Forsberg has been publishing his music, which is now cross-genre in the areas of rap, hip-hop, beats, electronic and deep house , also under his real name and has been DJing under this name regularly since 2013 in Berlin clubs.
