Stanley Dean Geyer (born March 20, 1986 in Johannesburg , South Africa ) is a South African- Australian singer , songwriter and actor .

Life

Geyer was born as the eldest son of Debbie and Keith Geyer. He has two younger siblings, Jessica and Tatum. At the age of 15 he moved to Melbourne , Australia. In 2004 he graduated from high school there . Dean Geyer took an early interest in music. He learned to play the guitar , wrote his first songs and played in a band called Third Edge .

Private life

He dated The Veronicas singer Lisa Origliasso from 2007 to 2008 . He has had a relationship with Jillian Murray since filming The Fighters 2: Beatdown in 2010 . They announced their engagement on December 18, 2016 and got married on September 14, 2017.

Career

Music career

Geyer sang a Marc Cohn song on the third edition of the Australian Idol casting show and went one round. In the next shows he sang the self-composed song Nice to meet you . With the song he went from the top 100 to the top 24 in Sydney . On a show he sang a song with Gavin DeGraw (Beautiful Day). In the top 12 he sang Ryan Cabrera's On the Way Down . In the finale he sang Edwin McCain's I'll be .

In 2006 he signed a recording deal with Sony BMG . In early 2007, his first single, If you don't mean , was released. A few weeks later, his first album Rush followed . In 2008 he recorded the song Unforgettable with Caitlin Stasey , which was featured in the Neighbors episode on May 19, 2008.

Acting career

On November 4, 2007, he got a role in the Australian television series Neighbors . He was seen from March 27, 2008 to April 30, 2009 as singer Ty Harber . In 2011 he was featured in a guest episode of Single Ladies . His breakthrough came in the US with the role of Mark Reynolds in the FOX sci-fi - TV series Terra Nova . However, the series was discontinued after only one season. He also had a leading role in the martial arts film The Fighters 2: The Beatdown , the sequel to The Fighters . In the fourth season of the Fox television series Glee , he took on the role of Brody Weston .

From January 31 to February 28, 2016, Geyer was a participant in the Australian reality show I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and took 9th place.
