Revelations - The Revelation (Original Title: Revelations ) is an American miniseries on NBC from 2005 with a genre mix of mystery, drama and thriller. It deals with the topic of the Apocalypse , the title of the series is accordingly based on the book of Revelation of John in the New Testament of the Bible .

At the center of the plot are Dr. Richard Massey and Sister Josepha Montafiore on the side of good and the Satanist Isaiah Haden on the side of evil.

Richard Massey is a well-known and renowned astrophysicist at Harvard University . He has just returned home after hunted down and put the brutal murderer of his daughter Lucy, the Satanist Isaiah Haden, behind bars. Massay himself is a scientist through and through. Accordingly, he does not believe in miracles and prophecies as described in the Bible. Due to the loss of his daughter and his wife, who left him because of it, he is pretty much at the low point of his life and is largely driven by the desire to give his daughter's murderer the just punishment.

In the meantime, Sister Josepha Montafiore, who works for the Eklind Foundation, a wealthy Christian organization, is called to a hospital to see a brain-dead girl. The girl had previously been struck by lightning twice and has been speaking Latin verses from the Revelation of John in a coma ever since. Josepha thinks this is a sign of God and decides to further explore this miracle. She then asks Dr. Massey for help uncovering the secret of the Apocalypse.

Opposite the two is Isaiah Haden, who sees himself as a herald of evil and controls his followers from prison. In order to prepare for the arrival of the Antichrist , he has Massey's son Hawk kidnapped and tries to seize Lucy's. At the same time, he rallies the inmates of the prison as further supporters through satanic sermons.
