Natascha McElhone Abigail (* 14. December 1969 as Natasha Abigail Taylor in Surrey , England ) is a British actress .

Life

The daughter of a journalist couple, Natascha McElhone grew up in Brighton . McElhone is her mother's maiden name. In the early 1990s she studied acting in London and began her career on the theater stages in London and Manchester , where she was mainly seen in Shakespeare plays. In addition, she took on television roles. She gained international fame in 1998 in a leading role alongside Robert De Niro in Ronin and a supporting role in The Truman Show . From 2007 to 2014 she played, alongside David Duchovny , a leading role in the American television series Californication .

Her husband Martin Kelly died unexpectedly of a heart attack on May 20, 2008 at the age of 43 when McElhone was expecting their third child. Her family now lives in Ireland .
