Lonnie Liston Smith (2009)

Lonnie Liston Smith (born December 28, 1940 in Richmond , Virginia ) is an American pianist and keyboardist .

Previously sideman for Rahsaan Roland Kirk (1965–67), where he participated in the album Now Please Don't You Cry, Beautiful Edith , Art Blakey (1966), Pharoah Sanders ( Karma , 1969), Gato Barbieri (1971) and Miles Davis (1973), from 1974 he combined jazz with popular black music styles in his own band "Lonnie Liston Smith & the Cosmic Echoes" . B. Funk . Lonnie Liston Smith is one of the representatives of the Fusion . After his commercial success with the album Expansions , he remained largely true to the style of music to this day.
