Michael Massee gained notoriety in 1993 while filming the feature film The Crow . Another projectile was stuck in the weapon with which he was supposed to shoot the main character Brandon Lee . Since production was delayed, no dummies had been used for some shooting scenes, but real cartridges from which only the gunpowder had been removed, but not the primer. This drove a projectile from such a cartridge into the barrel, where it got stuck. This projectile then became a lethal projectile for Lee when a blank cartridge was fired and the gas pressure released with it. Massee said in an interview that he regularly dreamed of the tragic event and would never get over it.
