He runs the bodyguard company and maintains contact with clients and principals. Another member of the team is the seedy Guerrero, who maintains many contacts in the criminal underworld and can often provide additional information about the various jobs.

In addition to the pure plot of the individual episodes, one learns more and more about the background of the individual characters in the course of the series. New details keep coming out, especially about the character Christopher Chance.

The figures

main characters

Christopher Chance

He is the main character in the series and takes on assignments to protect the company's clients. His real name is not known. However, a lot is revealed about his past in the course of the series. He worked for the military as well as for a criminal organization, where he did targeted murders and special assignments. He learned his trade in the organization, passed it on and found a fatherly friend in Joubert . Chance later betrayed his mentor and has been on the run from him ever since. His opponent Baptiste is one of his students from that time. Since Chance switched sides, he has been followed by the head of the criminal organization. He speaks many languages fluently and was also active as a freedom fighter in parts of South America. He took his name from a former bodyguard who helped him break out of the Joubert organization many years ago . At that time he was supposed to kill the witness Katherine Walters , but fell in love with her. Later she was finally killed by Baptiste on behalf of Joubert .

Detective Laverne Winston

He is Christopher Chance's best friend and the head of the joint company. He used to work as a detective for the police and maintains excellent connections with the authorities, as well as in politics and business. He rarely interferes directly in the operations, but usually takes over the planning and monitoring. He is also very concerned about Chance and tries to protect him as best he can from his pursuers from the past. After a first encounter with Chance, who at that time was still working as a hit man for Joubert , he left the police service and offered the chance to run a bodyguard company with him.

Guerrero

He is the third member of the company and takes on many tasks. His real name is not known. Like Chance, he has ample experience in hand-to-hand combat and has worked as a killer before. In addition, he has a great deal of knowledge in electronics and chemistry. As far as is known, he used to work with Christopher Chance for the criminal organization. But you learn that he has a wife and a child. Ever since he was spared by Christopher Chance and not killed as is usual in the industry, he has had a kind of friendship with Chance.

Ilsa Pucci

She introduces herself as a client and is ultimately successfully saved from their pursuers by Chance, Winston and Guerrero. She is deeply impressed by Chance and the way he works. She then offers to join the company as a silent partner. She had previously inherited a sizable fortune from her murdered husband. Chance, Wilson and Guerrero agree. Since then, Ilsa Pucci has provided Chance and his colleagues with vehicles and aircraft for their missions and also renovated the company's office.

Ames

Ames is a former thief who knows her "trade" and can steal almost anything. She was arrested several times by Laverne Winston years ago. At the beginning of the second season, Ames is hired to steal a ring from Ilsa Pucci, where she is caught by Guerrero. So that she can make up for her mistake, she helps Christopher Chance free Ilsa Pucci from the hands of her kidnappers. She becomes an integral part of the team and is no longer dependent on criminal activities.

Minor characters

Layla
She is a computer expert and used to work for a large arms company in Washington. After many departments there had to be closed due to criminal work practices, she lost her job and has been working freelance for Laverne Winston and his company ever since.
FBI Agent Barnes
She met Christopher Chance on a job at the Russian embassy. There they managed together to find a killer inside the embassy. After that, Chance disappeared, leaving her with many unanswered questions. The appearance of Baptiste meant that Chance had to work with her again, and together they again managed to thwart an attack at a peace summit between China and Taiwan.
Baptiste
Like Chance, he is also a student of Joubert and was overshadowed by Christopher Chance for a long time . After his exit, he was put on Chance and should eliminate him and his former target. He then killed Katherine Walters , with whom Chance had previously fallen in love. He also killed an acquaintance of Chance, an aging bodyguard by the name of Christopher Chance , whose identity was later adopted by Chance. Since then there have been several meetings between Baptiste and Chance. Baptiste was captured by the FBI and extradited to Russia.
Joubert
He was the former mentor of Christopher Chance and Baptiste and head of a hit society. He was a mentor and fatherly friend to Chance for many years and raised him in the hope that Chance would one day be his successor. Since the Katherine Walters case , he has been looking for a chance and tries to have him killed.
