Kenneth "Chi" McBride (born September 23, 1961 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actor .

Career

McBride began his acting career at the age of 30 and took on supporting roles in popular American television series such as The Prince of Bel-Air , A Terribly Kind Family and Nash Bridges . His first leading role was as the caretaker in the sitcom Night Shift with John . McBride was in 2001 for his role in the television series Boston Public for the Television Critics Association Award nomination. In 2002 the nomination for the AFI TV Award followed , in 2003 the nomination for the Satellite Award . In 2013, McBride took on a guest role on the Hawaii Five-0 series , which was expanded to a leading role a short time later.

McBride has been married since 1982.
