Reviews

With a story that is “hardly worth mentioning”, Andrzej Bartkowiak once again achieved “gross profits of over 55 million dollars” in the USA alone. Although “original characters and a fascinating background story were not to be expected”, the stunts and action interludes are convincing, “solid to strong staged and musically accompanied by hard guitar riffs and gripping hip-hop beats”. Born 2 Die can not “convince with any really new idea”, “The biggest shortcoming is not the actors, but the German synchronization”, who with Michael Roll chooses a “softie voice” for DMX that does not do justice to the character but is “shameful and involuntarily weird”.

Awards

  • MTV Movie Awards 2003: Nomination for Best Fight for Jet Li in the scenes of the cage fight
  • Taurus Awards 2004 : three stunt nominations for Best Work with a Vehicle , Best High Work and Best Overall Stunt by a Stunt Man
