Mark Alan Dacascos (born February 26, 1964 in Honolulu , Hawaii ) is an American actor with European-Asian ancestors.

life and career

He is the eldest son of Al Dacascos , the founder of Wun Hop Kuen Do (combined martial arts style, a style of modern Kung Fu ), whose roots lie in the Hawaiian Kajukenbo system. After his childhood in Hawaii, Mark Dacascos spent several years in Hamburg , where he received his black belt in his father's martial arts school and also learned German, which he now speaks fluently as well as English, Chinese and Japanese. After several successes in martial arts tournaments, Dacascos devoted himself to acting .

He was seen in 2001 in the fantasy film Pact of the Wolves and in 2003 in the action film Cradle 2 The Grave . He also had guest appearances in US series such as Martial Law - The Karate Cop and CSI . Most popular, however, is his portrayal of the killer Yo Hinomura in Christophe Gans ' action thriller Crying Freeman (1995). In 2016 he made his directorial debut with the action film Showdown in Manila .

Between 2010 and 2018, Dacascos played the villain Wo Fat in various episodes of Hawaii Five-0 .

Mark Dacascos has been married to American actress Julie Condra since 1998 and has three children with her. He met her while filming the film Crying Freeman - The Son of the Dragon .
