Murder One is an American crime series on the ABC network from 1995 .

The series contains two seasons. The first season is all about the murder of Jessica Costello. Therefore, the series in Germany was subtitled "The Jessica Case" and was broadcast by VOX . The second season was broadcast by ProSieben from February 29, 2000 . It contained three murders.

In the first season, Daniel Benzali plays the defender Theodore (Ted) Hoffman . Despite awards and good reviews, the series remained below the expectations of the US broadcaster, so that the main character was replaced from the second season by Anthony LaPaglia , who played ex-prosecutor Jimmy Wyler . An additional concept change, instead of showing one case several, did not bring the desired success, so that the series was ultimately discontinued.

The series has received a number of awards, including the Emmy Award and the BAFTA Award .
