Patricia Clarkson
Patricia Davies Clarkson (born December 29, 1959 in New Orleans , Louisiana ) is an American actress .
Life
Patricia Clarkson considered Ingrid Bergman her favorite actress and it was because of her that she decided to become an actress too. She studied acting at the Yale School of Drama and made her first appearance as a film actress in The Untouchables (1987). She can be seen predominantly in independent and ensemble films and often portrays strong, complex and contradicting characters. She is considered one of the outstanding actresses in US cinema. She received various awards as a film actress and was nominated for an Oscar once.
In 1999, Clarkson played the prison director's wife, who was apparently terminally ill with a brain tumor, in The Green Mile . In the published 2002 remake of the horror - classic Carrie , she played the role of fanatical mother. She took on a guest role in the television series Six Feet Under . She can also be seen in the 5th and 6th season of House of Cards . 2018 she took over in the miniseries Sharp Objects radio station HBO as Adora Crellin one of the main roles of the eight-part production. Her dramatic performance earned her a nomination for an Emmy in the category Best Supporting Actress - Miniseries or TV movie one.
Patricia Clarkson began her career as a stage actress. She also made appearances on Broadway . In 2015, Clarkson received a Tony Award nomination for her appearance in The Elephant Man .

Patricia Clarkson is the youngest of five sisters and the daughter of a local New Orleans politician.
