Daniel Benzali

Daniel Benzali (born January 20, 1950 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) is an American actor .

Life

Benzali was born in Rio de Janeiro to Brazilian parents, but three years after his birth the family moved to the United States, where he grew up in Brooklyn . He first appeared in American theaters before moving to England in the 1970s , where he spent a total of nine years in London and became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company . In 1993 he starred alongside Patti LuPone and Kevin Anderson in the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Sunset Boulevard . In 2000 he appeared on the side of Mira Sorvino Off-Broadway in an adaptation of Luigi Pirandellos Vestire gli ignudi .

In 1985 he had one of his first feature film roles in James Bond 007 - In the Face of Death as WG Howe . He later had major film roles as William Kubert in The Bomb Flies , as agent Nick Spikings in Murder in the White House and as Schlermer in The Gray Area . In 1997 he had a supporting role in Wim Wenders ' independent film At the End of Violence .

He was also successful on television. In addition to guest roles in numerous successful series, he was judge Donald T. Phillips in LA Law - Star Lawyers, Tricks, Trials between 1988 and 1993 . In 1995 he got the lead role as defense attorney Theodore (Ted) Hoffman in the series Murder One . After the first season he was replaced by Anthony LaPaglia . From 2001 to 2003 he played Robert Quinn in The Agency . He had other recurring guest roles in New York Cops - NYPD Blue , Jericho - The attack and the soap opera General Hospital .
