Lesli Linka Glatter
Lesli Linka Glatter (born July 26, 1953 ) is an American film and television director . She is also known by her stage names Leslie Linka Glatter and Lesli Glatter .
life and career
Lesli Linka Glatter was born in 1953. She began her career as a dancer and as a choreographer before starting to work as a film director . Her directorial debut, the short film Tales of Meeting and Parting , which she directed with Sharon Oreck, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Short Film, Live Action at the 1985 Academy Awards. Two years later she started directing several television series and films . She directed three episodes of Incredible Stories , four episodes of Twin Peaks , two episodes of On the Air and New York Cops - NYPD Blue , and directed the HBO television film Scandal in the Emergency Room . The latter was nominated for the CableACE Award in 1995 for the Best Picture and for a Humanitas Prize .
For her directorial work on the series Twin Peaks , she was nominated in 1991 for a Directors Guild of America Award in the category Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Dramatic Series . In 1995 she made her feature film debut in Now and Then - Then and Now with Demi Moore , Melanie Griffith , Christina Ricci and Thora Birch in the leading roles. This was followed by other productions in television series, such as thirteen episodes of the hospital series Emergency Room from 1995 to 2008 and an episode of the crime series Murder One in 1996 . In 1998 she directed the film Desire & Reality , which starred Kenneth Branagh , Madeleine Stowe and William Hurt . In the 2000s she returned to working on television series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , Gilmore Girls and The West Wing - In the Center of Power , OC, California , Heroes , Dr. House and Mad Men . In 2010, she won a Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Dramatic Series for her work on Mad Men and was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series .
Most recently she retired from the film industry and directed other episodes of television series, including The Mentalist , Good Wife , True Blood , Pretty Little Liars , The Chicago Code , The Newsroom , Boss , Nashville and The Walking Dead .
