Love is a matter of nerves is a feature film by the US film director Bart Freundlich from 2005.
action
Rebecca is preparing for her debut as an actress at Lincoln Center . Her husband Tom gives up his well-paid work so that he can stay at home with the children. In the course of the film, however, it becomes clear that Tom is only partially satisfied with his role as a househusband. The two visit a therapist irregularly because of their unsatisfactory sex life for Tom. Tom later cheats with the mother of his son's friend.
Tobey is Rebecca's brother and good friend of Tom. He and his girlfriend Elaine, who is dying to have a child, have been together for seven years.
Tobey and Tom attend the premiere of Rebecca, as do Elaine and her new boyfriend. At the end of the play Tom Rebecca throws a piece of paper on the stage that shows that he has now found his identity as a father and husband and loves them. Tobey then yells across the audience to Elaine and confesses his love to her. The two get married.
