Bartholomew "Bart" Freundlich (born January 17, 1970 in New York City , New York ) is an American film director , screenwriter and producer .

Life

Freundlich grew up in Manhattan and studied at New York University , which already graduated from well-known personalities in film, such as Alec Baldwin or Martin Scorsese .

Freundlich made his first short film in 1993 with A Dog Race in Alaska . For this project he engaged Robert Sean Leonard, among others . Another short film followed in 1994 with Hired Hands .

He made his feature film debut in 1997 : The Family Secret . For this film he was able to win Blythe Danner , Hope Davis and Laurel Holloman . After a four year hiatus, Freundlich released World Traveler in 2001 with Billy Crudup , Julianne Moore and Karen Allen .

In 2004, Freundlich led the youth film Mission: Possible - These kids are unbelievable! directed with Kristen Stewart in the lead role. This film is a remake of the Danish film Kletter-Ida . A year later he turned love is a matter of nerves . He directed eight episodes of the television series Californication .

In 2009 Freundlich published a comedy called Lieber in love , which was followed by further work for film and television.

He has been married to actress Julianne Moore since 2003 and they have two children. Moore has played in three of Freundlich's films so far.
