Robert Sean Leonard (* 28. February 1969 in Westwood , New Jersey as Robert Lawrence Leonard ) is an American actor . He is best known for his role as Dr. James Wilson in the television series Dr. House and his leading roles in the films The Dead Poets Club (1989; role of Neil Perry ) and Swing Kids (1993). He also plays regularly in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.

Life

Robert Sean Leonard was born Robert Lawrence Leonard in Westwood , New Jersey . His parents, Joyce, a nurse, and Robert Howard, a Spanish teacher, moved with him to Ridgewood . There he graduated from high school before attending Fordham University and Columbia University . Since there is an actor of the same name, he took his brother's name as a second name to the US actor union ( Screen Actors Guild ) join to.
