Dan Goldie (born October 3, 1963 in Sioux City , Iowa ) is a retired American tennis player .

Life

Goldie studied at Stanford University and won the 1986 NCAA championships in singles with a final victory against Richey Reneberg . He was also selected for the All-American selection. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics and became a tennis professional. He won his first tournament victory on the ATP World Tour in 1987 in Newport , where he also won the double title alongside Larry Scott . The following year he won his second and last title in the singles and doubles competition. He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1989 with position 27 in singles and position 40 in doubles.

His best individual result in a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 1989, including a victory over Jimmy Connors . He was also in the round of 16 at the 1986 US Open and the 1987 Australian Open . His best result in the doubles competition was a round of 16 at Wimbledon in 1988.
