Space Warriors - Das verrückte Weltraumcamp (German DVD title Space Kids - Abenteuer im Weltraumcamp , original title Space Warriors ) is an American science fiction film by Sean McNamara .

action

13-year-old Jimmy always wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and become an astronaut. He comes a whole step closer to his goal when he wins a stay at the NASA summer camp. With a fake voice message, he outsmarted his mother, who didn't want to let him go there.

In the space camp, Jimmy's team, the "Space Warriors", compete against several other teams. The prize for the winning team will be a flight to the ISS next year.

At first the Space Warriors are not particularly good, but they fight their way closer and closer to the leading team, the "Titans". With the final competition, the Space Warriors would have the chance to catch up with the Titans. However, Hunter, the team leader of the Titans, manipulates the Space Warriors' vehicle so that it comes to a halt shortly before the goal.

After Conway and Chandra, two team members of the Titans, plagued the guilty conscience, they inform the camp management, whereupon Hunter is expelled from the camp and the victory is awarded to the Space Warriors.

An accident had occurred on the ISS during the competition. Three crew members suffer from acute oxygen deficiency and it is feared that a Russian rescue mission will come too late. However, the Space Warriors have developed a rescue plan and manage to remotely repair both a defective ammonia pump on the ISS and to have the station fly an evasive maneuver to avoid further damage, so that the crew actually survives until the Russian rescue mission arrives.
