Station 19 (different on Pro7 Seattle Firefighters - The Young Heroes ) is an American television series about the lives of the men and women of a fire station . It is an offshoot of the hospital series Grey's Anatomy . The first season aired between March 22, 2018 and May 17, 2018 in the US and consists of 10 episodes. In May 2018 the series was extended by a second and in August 2019 by a third season. A fourth season was ordered in March 2020.

The Action - Drama Series station 19 plays in Seattle and acts by employees of the station 19 of the Seattle Fire Department. The plot is in the same series universe settled as Gray's Anatomy . Accordingly, some of the Station 19 characters were featured in an episode of Grey's Anatomy before the series began . Other characters from Grey's Anatomy , such as Meredith Gray and Miranda Bailey, have guest appearances in Seattle Firefighters .
The main characters of the series include Captain Pruitt Herrera, the former head of the watch, and his ambitious daughter Lieutenant Andy Herrera, who, after her father's resignation, temporarily shares the management of the watch with her colleague, Lieutenant Jack Gibson. The two initially have an affair. Other firefighters on the station include Andy's best friend Maya Bishop, a former Olympic athlete; Dean Miller, who likes to use his fame as a firefighter to meet women; Travis Montgomery, a fire department medic and the good soul of the guard; the freshman Ben Warren, a retired assistant surgeon from Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital ; and Victoria Hughes, the youngest on the team. The policeman Ryan Tanner, a childhood friend of Andy's, also works closely with the firefighters.

production
In the drama series produced by ABC Studios , series creator Stacy McKee works as showrunner and executive producer together with Shonda Rhimes , Betsy Beers and Paris Barclay . The series was filmed mainly in Los Angeles from October 2017 . The German-language first broadcast took place on ORF Eins from July 2018.
On May 11, 2018, ABC extended the series for a second season. The second season, initially ordered with 13 episodes, was expanded by four episodes due to its great success. The English-language premiere of the second season was on October 4, 2018.
reception
The film and series review collection site Rotten Tomatoes listed a total of thirteen reviews of Station 19 on April 17, 2018 , of which it viewed eight as positive and five as negative. The Metacritic site rated the reviews on the same date with a "Metascore" of 55, with a best possible result of 100.
