Jason Winston George (born February 9, 1972 in Virginia Beach , Virginia ) is an American actor .

Childhood and youth

George grew up with his two brothers in Virginia Beach, Virginia . He first started a career as a lawyer before moving on to acting. He received his degree from the University of Virginia .

Career

He got his first role in the soap Sunset Beach after answering a casting call at a mall. George couldn't decide between this role and graduation. Ultimately, the university counted this as an "independent study project" and he was able to get his degree in acting. Most know him as Michael Bourne from Sunset Beach and from his recurring role Channing in the comedy series Moesha . He had guest appearances on the sci-fi drama Roswell and the comedy series Arli $$ . From 2003 to 2006 he played JT Hunter in Eve . In the fall of 2006 he appeared in several episodes in the ABC-produced series What About Brian . In 2008 appearances in Eli Stone and in Eastwick followed . Since 2010 he has played Miranda Bailey's ( Chandra Wilson ) series husband , Ben Warren, in Grey's Anatomy .

In 1998 he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 25th Daytime Emmy Awards.
