Boomtown is an American television series by author Graham Yost , which went on air on September 29, 2002 on NBC . Boomtown is set in the American city of Los Angeles in the US state of California, where one of the nicknames for Los Angeles is also Boomtown .

Each episode revolves around a crime that is illustrated from multiple angles, such as that of the district attorney, detectives, police, press, witnesses, victims, perpetrators and accomplices.

First season

The first season contains 18 episodes. After only 12 episodes aired, the station took a two-month break and moved the broadcasting time from Sunday to Friday before broadcasting the remaining six episodes in March 2003.

Second season

In order to get the station excited about a second season, the producers decided to change the style typical of the series and the cast was revised. But that was the coup de grace for Boomtown , which caused a rating low at the station in the first season and so NBC put the series on hold after only two episodes and continued the broadcast of Law & Order . Despite the creative narrative style, good reviews and a few awards, the series did not appeal to enough audience and was therefore permanently canceled. On December 27, 2003, NBC showed three of the four outstanding episodes before the final episode of Boomtown aired on December 28, 2003 .

On December 17, 2007, the series first went on air in German-speaking countries on 13th Street.
