action

Ahsha Hayes is a well-sheltered young woman who has just finished her studies. But now she joins the cheerleading team, Los Angeles Devil Girls. She prevails against the wishes of her mother Sloane, who knows from personal experience how treacherous and alluring the world of cheerleaders is. She also fears that a long-kept secret will come to light. Ahsha not only has to prepare for professional appearances, but also has to expose herself to the intrigues of the team's captain, Jelena Howard. Jelena sees her as a competitor who could dispute her place as captain. Little does Ahsha know that her coach Pete Davenport has something to do with her mother's secret. Furthermore, she has to defend herself against the indecentities of rich people.

production

The pilot episode for Hit the Floor was ordered in April 2012. The idea for the series came from James LaRosa, who also works as a producer alongside Bryan Johnson and Maggie Malina. The series is distributed by Starz Distribution. The central female lead went to Taylour Paige . Other actors in the pilot were Dean Cain , Kimberly Elise , Valery Ortiz and Katherine Bailess . In July 2012, VH1 ordered a first season. After the television series was ordered, Charlotte Ross , Logan Browning and others were cast for further leading roles. Cast Don Stark and Robert Christopher Riley were promoted from supporting actor to leading actor before season one began.

Due to the good audience ratings, which increased during the first season, VH1 ordered a second season in mid-July 2013. Filming began in January 2014. Three new leading actors were cast for the second season. A year later, the broadcaster extended the series by a ten-part third season.
