action

A mysterious virus called "the great death" has killed all sexually mature people. 15 years later America has sunk into chaos, the cities destroyed, raw materials scarcity and the law of the road rule the country. In the turmoil of this time, Jeremiah searches for the remains of civilization and for traces of his father, who presumably fled to the “Valhalla Sector” shortly before the “great death”. Together with his friend Kurdy, the two vagabonds arrive at "Thunder Mountain", a bunker complex in which some of the people have found refuge. As their scouting party, they scour the country for evidence of the “end of the world”, a myth that denotes either the remains of civilization or a new epidemic. On the way, the two friends help where they are needed.

main characters

Jeremiah
Jeremiah was still a child when he “died great”. After his father had gone to the "Valhalla Sector", he was supposed to take care of his little brother. However, his brother was shot dead by bandits and has been plagued with guilt ever since. He is an upright and honest person who, however, approaches his environment with a healthy level of skepticism. His sense of justice drives him again and again to help the weak and to put himself in dangerous situations. His primary goal is to find his father's whereabouts, to whom he writes letters every evening in order to burn her afterwards. At the end of the first season he finds his father.

In season 2, Jeremiah becomes mayor of a small town in close proximity to the conquered Valhalla Sector. Here he tries to find a new meaning in his life. Meanwhile, his new girlfriend is murdered in a raid by Daniel's empire. Then he seeks revenge.

Kurdy
Kurdy is mostly concerned with his own benefit and accordingly often acts without a head. The post-epidemic experience made him tough. Still, he has a big heart, but doesn't want to admit it to himself. He is attached to the luxury of the "Old World" and seeks happiness in the "New World" together with the opposing Jeremiah. Although he occasionally takes the initiative, he prefers to rely on his friend's elaborate plans.
Marcus Alexander
Marcus Alexander is the leader of the group of survivors who are hiding in "Thunder Mountain". he dreams of a just, new world and initially isolates himself and the other inhabitants from the outside world. Jeremiah and Kurdy are his scouts in the world outside the bunker complex. In a cordoned off area, he has isolated what is probably the only survivor of the epidemic who still carries the pathogen. He hopes to learn from her what exactly caused the disease.
