America was inexorably driven into an all-devastating 3rd World War by the irreconcilable class antagonisms. Few survived the inferno, and in the ashes of civilization a new society with new laws emerged. In this harsh world, Jeremiah and his friend Kurdy Malloy try to assert themselves.

Volumes 1–11 were colored by Fraymond , all other editions were colored by Hermann himself. 37 volumes have appeared so far. In Germany, all volumes up to volume 20 have been published by Carlsen Verlag since 1988 , the following volumes were first published by Kult Editions and currently by Erko . The series first appeared under the name "David Walker" in the Zack magazine published by Koralle-Verlag . From 2012 onwards, a digitally restored complete edition was published by Kult-Edionen, which is currently also being continued by Erko. Each volume contains three stories.

Between 2002 and 2004, a total of 34 episodes of Jeremiah - Warriors of Thunder , a comic-based American television series with Luke Perry in the title role were filmed.
