Erin Karpluk
Erin Karpluk (born October 17, 1978 in Jasper , Alberta ) is a Canadian actress who gained great fame mainly for her leading role in the television series Being Erica .
life and career
Erin Karpluk was born in Jasper, Canada in 1978. Her mother was a high school principal and her father worked on the railroad. She studied drama at the University of Victoria , where she received her bachelor's degree in 2000.
Karpluk began her acting career in Vancouver , and between 2000 and 2005 she appeared in more than a dozen television series and television films . She played the recurring role of Cal Henries in the short-lived series Glory Days . She also starred in the last episode of James Cameron's Dark Angel in 2002 and in an episode of Steven Spielberg's miniseries Taken . In 2005 and 2006 she played the lead role of Kate in the television series Godiva’s . The 19 episode series has won several awards, and Karpluk herself has been nominated for her role for the Gemini and Leo Awards for Best Actress in a Drama Series. This was followed by roles in various Canadian and US productions such as Men in Trees , Bionic Woman , Flash Gordon and The L Word as well as films such as Luna: Spirit of the Whale and Flight 507 - Gefangen im Zeitloch, for which she was also nominated for awards in some cases . For her leading role as Erica Strange in the Canadian television series Being Erica - Alles auf Anfang she received various awards, such as the 2009 Gemini Award for best actress. The series came to 49 episodes in four seasons.
