Men in Trees is an American television series directed by Jenny Bicks with Anne Heche in the lead role from 2006 to 2008. This series is about a book author and life advisor who breaks up with her unfaithful fiancé and moves to Elmo, a fictional city in Alaska , pulling to start a fresh start. Elmo is full of single men, they can be found on every corner and even live in the trees. In the first episode, the author walks through the city during these reflections and passes an American danger sign (orange diamond on a tip) with the text "Men in Trees", which warns of workers cutting branches. The television series was produced around Vancouver , Canada by Tree Line Films, Perkins Street Productions and NS Pictures, Inc. in association with Warner Brothers Television .
action
Successful love guide writer Marin Frist is about to get married when she travels to Elmo, Alaska to give a lecture . On the flight, Frist discovers pictures of her fiancé with another woman on her fiancé's notebook, which she took with her instead of her own, and therefore decides to part with him. In Elmo, Marin Frist is supposed to give a lecture to the predominantly male population of the city at the instigation of the radio presenter and hotel owner Patrick Bachelor. Due to her private situation, Frist decides to stay in Elmo and work for the radio station. She is also writing a new book.
For Frist, as a New Yorker, it is initially not easy to get used to life in the small town and nature, but then integrates into the local community. Above all, she gives relationship advice and brings together her fan Annie O'Donnell, who has traveled to Elmo, with Patrick Bachelor. Deadline himself begins a relationship with biologist Jack Slattery that is tumultuous and temporarily breaks up as a result of the publication of the first section of her new book.
Production and broadcast notes
Originally, 13 episodes were commissioned by the US television network ABC , which should be broadcast in the fall of 2006. After the first broadcast episodes had been received relatively well by the audience, it was decided on October 28, 2006 to order four more episodes on Warner Brothers Television. Just one week later, on November 8th, 2006, the decision was made to order a back nine order for a full season with 22 episodes and to reorder the remaining episodes.
On October 12, 2007, ABC began broadcasting the second season.
On December 3, 2007, ORF 1 and SF two began broadcasting the first season in German-speaking countries. VOX showed the first eleven episodes of the first season from January 4, 2008. The broadcast was interrupted from March 14, 2008 due to poor ratings. On July 9, 2008, however, the broadcast was resumed. After a repetition of the episodes shown in the first season, the new episodes followed seamlessly; however, the series switched back to the slot at 11 p.m. on October 1, 2008. SF two also stopped broadcasting because the series did not have sufficient success. ORF 1 also ended the series prematurely.
An exact date for the appearance of the 1st season on DVD has not yet been announced.
On May 4, 2008, the series was officially discontinued by ABC after two seasons with a total of 36 episodes. The decision was justified with a lack of audience ratings. Since this was already becoming apparent, two versions were shot for the end (season and series end).
synchronization
The series was set to music at Berliner Synchron . Marc Boettcher wrote the dialogue books together with Heike Schroetter and directed the dialogue.
