Justine Bateman (born February 19, 1966 in Rye , New York ) is an American actress .

Life

At the age of three, she moved with her brother and parents from Rye to Boston , where she lived for four years, drawing her and her family to Salt Lake City and, after another four years, ultimately to California . She graduated from high school in California in 1982. Her younger brother is the actor Jason Bateman .

She first appeared in front of the camera for an ad for Wheaties (American corn flakes brand). However, she became known through the television series Familienbande ( Family Ties ), which was recorded from 1982 to 1989. She took on the role of Mallory Keaton at the side of Michael J. Fox , who played her brother Alex . She received two Emmy nominations for this role . In 2008 she finally played the role of drug dealer Ellie Leonard in four episodes of the dramedy Desperate Housewives .

Bateman is married to Mark Fluent and has two children with him.
