Tyler "Ty" Victor Olsson (born January 28, 1974 in Halifax , Nova Scotia ) is a Canadian actor .

Life

Ty Olsson was born in Halifax, Canada, but grew up in Ottawa . Olsson made his first film appearance in 1999 in the horror comedy Lake Placid . Since then he has mainly played supporting roles, for example in X-Men 2 , Dreamcatcher , Riddick: Chronicles of a Warrior , Planet of the Apes: Prevolution and in Breaking Dawn - Bite at the End of the Night, Part 1 and Part 2 .

In 2006 he played the passenger Mark Bingham (1970-2001) in Flight 93 - Flight of Death on September 11 , a television film about the hijacking of United Airlines Flight 93 . In the mystery series Supernatural he took on the role of the vampire Benny Lafitte.

In 2017, Olsson won the Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Male in a Television Movie for his role in A Surrogates Nightmare .

Olsson was married to actress Leanna Nash until 2012 , with whom he has two daughters.
