Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn is an American science fiction - Action - miniseries from 2012. Their story is set in Halo universe, which was best known for his video game conversions.

In 2525 mankind colonized numerous other planets and found itself in a civil war . The cadet Thomas Lasky, together with other cadets, visits the military Corbulo Academy, named after Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo , on another planet in order to be trained as an officer. His brother died as a soldier in the civil war and Lasky himself sees little point in this war, which also affects his achievements at the academy. He also has strong feelings for Chyler Silva.

One day before Lasky could leave the academy due to health problems, the academy is attacked. To everyone's surprise, it turns out that the attackers are not human rebels, but the Alliance , a religious alliance of various extraterrestrial species whose existence was previously kept secret from the masses. The Alliance is waging a holy war against humanity with the aim of exterminating it. The entire academy is overrun by the alliance and only a few of the cadets, including Lasky and Silva, are able to hide. These are rescued by the Master Chief , a super soldier, and taken to an evacuation point. On the way there, Silva dies in a fight.

On the way from the planet, the cadets see how the Alliance begins to bomb the planet's surface with their spaceships.
