Visual Effects Society
The Visual Effects Society (VES) is a visual effects society founded in 1997 in Hollywood , Los Angeles , USA and with its 3400 members in over 35 countries around the world represents filmmakers from all areas of visual effects. The VES is a professional, voluntary organization. Its members come from all areas of the entertainment industry, such as film, television, advertising, music videos and computer games.
In January 2017, a German section of the VES was founded after over 50 VFX filmmakers had signed a petition for it.
aims
The aim of the VES is to promote artists , technicians , model builders , trainers , directors , production managers and marketing experts who deal with visual effects and to offer them the opportunity to continue their education. VES annually offers members of the VES as well as all filmmakers from the entertainment industry various domestic and international information and training programs, screenings and events.
VES Awards
The VES Awards have been presented annually by the Visual Effects Society since 2002 . The award is given in various categories for the best special effects in film, television, advertising, music videos and computer games.
