343 Industries is a US video game development studio founded by Microsoft in 2007 in Kirkland (Washington) , which is responsible within the group for the further development of the Halo franchise . The reason for this was the split from Microsoft with the former development studio of the series Bungie into independence. The name of 343 Industries is based on the name of the Illuminati 343 Guilty Spark , who plays a role in the series. The first game you published was Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary in 2011. In addition, the company developed the central platform Halo: Waypoint in 2009 . 343 Industries is a division of Xbox Game Studios .

Company history

The Halo: Waypoint was opened on Xbox Live in 2009 and is intended to be an information platform that contains news and background information about the series. Waypoint can be accessed by any Xbox Live Gold user.

The first game from 343 Industries was Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary , which was released in November 2011. The game is a remake of the first game in the Halo series called Halo: Battle for the Future . The game has been graphically improved and digitally restored.

The first independent production Halo 4 marked the beginning of a new Halo series called Reclaimer - Trilogy . Halo 4 was released for Xbox 360 in 2012. The game is largely set on the Blood Fathers planet Requiem . The focus is once again on the Master Chief and his AI Cortana .

In 2015, the successor Halo 5: Guardians appeared .

On June 10, 2018, Halo Infinite was announced as part of the Electronic Entertainment Expo . 343 Industries is developing the game in cooperation with SkyBox Labs. The new Slipspace Engine is used to develop Halo Infinite . 343 Industries confirmed that the scenes shown in the trailer were all running in engine.
