Halo: Nightfall is an American action miniseries directed by Ridley Scott and director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan . It is an offshoot of the Halo computer game franchise .

The plot is set before the computer game Halo 5 and is about Agent Jameson Locke, a manhunter and agent of the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). Humans have colonized the universe and are now fighting for rule together with a hostile alien race. Before that, there had been a peace deal, but since a series of terrorist attacks disrupted relations, Jameson Locke and his team have been looking for clues on the remote Sedra colony while they are involved in a biological attack.

Production notes

The series served the computer game series as an introduction and prehistory of the character Jameson Lockes, who is one of the main characters in Halo 5 . It was shot in Belfast, Ireland, among others. It was released on November 11, 2014 initially as part of the Halo: The Masterchief Collection and exclusively for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One game consoles via the Halo Waypoint . From March 2015, it was also released for other streaming providers and published on Blu-ray and DVD.
