Christina Chong

Christina Chong (born around 1983 in Enfield , London , England ) is a British actress .

Life

Chong was born in London in the Enfield district, then lived with five siblings in Broxbourne ( Hertfordshire ) north of London. After her parents divorced, she moved with her mother and siblings to Longridge ( Lancastershire ) in north east England. In the small town of Longridge, she and her siblings said they were probably the only children with non-European ancestors. Chong grew up here until she was 14 and attended the Sutcliffe School of Dance in addition to the local school . When she was 14, she moved to the Italia Conti Academy of Theater Arts in London, which she graduated from when she was 19. Immediately afterwards she appeared in a leading role in the musical Aida in Berlin. Due to an injury, however, she gave up her career as a musical actress and switched to acting. Chong then studied for 18 months at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York.

After completing her studies, Chong returned to London and only appeared in a few small supporting roles and in commercials. To earn a living, she gave acting lessons and became a partner in her father's Chinese restaurant in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. She finally made her breakthrough in 2011 alongside minor supporting roles in Madonna's film WE and in Johnny English Reborn , she got the role of doctor Sarah Witney in the doctor series Monroe . Since then she has appeared on several British television series. For example, she was seen in an episode of Doctor Who and Black Mirror . In the second season of the police series Line of Duty , she played the Detective Sergeant Nicola Rogerson in 2014 . In the same year she also appeared in the science fiction series Halo: Nightfall and in 24: Live Another Day .

In July 2014, it was announced that she had been hired for the film Star Wars Episode VII, scheduled for late 2015 .

In 2015, Chong played the role of Zoe Holloway in the second season of the science finction series Dominion , who is the leader of a lower class uprising in the city of Vega.
