1 1 Jack the Ripper is beyond belief (1) Part 1 Feb 2, 2009 Dec 18, 2009 SJ Clarkson Ben Court & Caroline Ip
In a school yard in the London borough of Whitechapel , the policewoman Mary Bousefield found the seriously injured Cathy Lane, who died shortly afterwards. The inexperienced Detective Inspector (DI) Joseph Chandler, fresh from the academy and a protégé of Police Chief Anderson, is entrusted with the investigation , which causes disrespect among his new subordinates. During the autopsy of the victim, it is found that Lane's throat has been cut and her stomach slit open. In the course of the investigation, Edward Buchan, a Jack the Ripper expert, contacts Chandler and points out that the murder of Cathy Lane resembles in every detail the first murder of the notorious English serial killer Jack the Ripper and that with further murders What is to be expected is what happens: A second woman is found murdered. And this time, too, there are many parallels to the Ripper's second murder.
2 2 Jack the Ripper is beyond belief (2) Part 2 Feb 9, 2009 Dec 18, 2009 SJ Clarkson Ben Court & Caroline Ip
After the second murder, DI Chandler and his team of investigators are now convinced that a perpetrator is at work who is recreating the murders of the Ripper. Jack Leary, a soldier who has attracted attention through violence against prostitutes, is suspected of being the new Ripper; however, it turns out to be innocent. The third and fourth of the murders attributed to Jack the Ripper occurred in quick succession that same night. However, ripper expert Edward Buchan convinces Chandler that the original Ripper did not commit the third murder and that the new Ripper will not recreate that murder, but instead will continue to imitate the fourth murder. To prevent this murder, which should take place in Miter Square , the square is cordoned off and guarded. Representatives of the media, who were informed for a fee by Detective Constable (DC) Fitzgerald, a member of Chandler's team, are also present. Nevertheless, during a confusion caused by Buchan, the perpetrator manages to put a woman who had previously been murdered by him, namely the police officer Mary Bousefield, there. Buchan is suspected of being an accomplice to the new Ripper. In fact, the new ripper had participated in discussions about Jack the Ripper on a Buchan-operated web forum .
3 3 Jack the Ripper is beyond belief (3) Part 3 Feb 16, 2009 Dec 18, 2009 SJ Clarkson Ben Court & Caroline Ip
The evidence of the perpetrator seems to be increasing. The track leads to a company that specializes in organ transport: one of the drivers is said to be the new ripper. However, it turns out that the perpetrator assumed the identity of a man who is wrongly suspected and arrested. Another lead finally leads DI Chandler to the home of the real perpetrator. This attacks Chandler and wants to kill him, but is disturbed by a neighbor and flees. A search of the perpetrator's home reveals that he is a master of disguise and can assume a variety of identities. In the apartment, the detectives find clues about a woman who will be the last victim. Chandler and Detective Sergeant Miles rush to the woman's apartment and are barely able to stop the perpetrator from committing the murder. However, the perpetrator knocks down Chandler, seriously injures Miles with a knife and escapes. Chandler is convinced that there will be no more murders because the perpetrator's plan to recreate the Jack the Ripper murders has failed and he will soon commit suicide. And in fact he falls from Tower Bridge and drowns in the Thames.

4th 1 The Kray Brothers Syndicate (1) Part 1 Oct 11, 2010 March 15, 2012 David Evans Ben Court & Caroline Ip
The disfigured corpse of an elderly man is recovered from the Thames . He is identified as Lenny Cobb and was murdered. Cobb had testified in court in the 1960s against two notorious criminals, the now deceased twin brothers Reginald and Ronald Kray , and contributed to the breakup of the criminal syndicate the brothers founded and the Krays to be imprisoned for life. Historical crimes expert Edward Buchan, who studied the Krays years ago, sees parallels with a murder committed on behalf of the twins and suspects that more murders will follow. And so it happens: Another man who testified against the Krays at the time is murdered. The lead seems to lead to Steven Dukes, a criminal who runs a billiards room, but Buchan questions his guilt. While the investigation is ongoing, a member of DI Chandler's team is injured by two strangers in a knife attack.
5 2 The Kray Brothers Syndicate (2) Part 2 Oct 18, 2010 March 15, 2012 David Evans Ben Court & Caroline Ip
In a pub a guest is shot dead by a stranger. The crime is similar to a murder committed by Ronald Kray in the same pub in the 1960s. The pub's barmaid has observed the crime and leads the investigators on the trail of the twin brothers Jimmy and Johnny Kray. When questioned, the twins' mother claimed that she conceived her sons through artificial insemination with a sperm donation from Ronald Kray. The pub barmaid agrees to identify the alleged perpetrator Jimmy Kray in a comparison . But she does not succeed because the Jimmy and Johnny opposite her are almost identical. In the course of the investigation, Chandler suspects that Jimmy and Johnny are apparently in the process of building a criminal syndicate based on the model of the historical Kray twins. The crimes committed by the Kray sons and modeled after historical models serve to benefit from the reputation of their notorious role models and to ensure respect in the underworld. Meanwhile, the members of the investigative team, including DI Chandler himself, are being massively threatened on behalf of the Krays. The investigator group's office is also devastated. Chandler now wants to try to play the brothers off against each other. He lets Johnny Kray propose a meeting in a pub through Jack Cheshire, a Krays confidante and at the same time a Chandler informant. At the agreed time, only DI Chandler, DS Miles and the corrupt cop Fitzgerald, an ex-investigator from Chandler's team who had been demoted to a patrolman, were in the pub. But instead of Johnny alone, both brothers appear and fire the outside of the pub with submachine guns. Fitzgerald is injured.
6th 3 The Kray Brothers Syndicate (3) Part 3 Oct 25, 2010 March 15, 2012 David Evans Ben Court & Caroline Ip
DC McCormack of Chandler's team commits suicide. He had been intimidated by the Krays' threats and served them as a mole , which eventually became unbearable for him. Thereupon the investigation against the Krays is officially closed. In truth, however, it continues in secret, with the assistance of Police Chief Anderson; Edward Buchan's house serves as the base. In order to bring down the brothers, it is decided to prove the presumption that Jimmy and Johnny are not descendants of Ronald Kray at all. For a DNA analysis , the investigators get a historical sample from Ronald Kray and a fresh sample from Jimmy Kray. The analysis confirms the assumption. With this information Steven Dukes, who together with the alleged Krays served as a mercenary in Africa and had established himself as a kind of mentor for the two in the criminal world, is led to withdraw his support from them. This and the refuted paternity of Ronald Kray are supposed to destroy their reputation in the underworld and thus ensure that their syndicate falls apart and at the same time make witnesses fear of the twins - Jimmy and Johnny can finally be arrested. Shortly after their arrest, the two are murdered by Jack Cheshire with the approval of Police Chief Anderson, although they are under police supervision or in prison.

7th 1 New Murders on Ratcliffe Highway (1) Case One (Part 1) Jan. 30, 2012 Jan. 10, 2013 John Strickland Ben Court & Caroline Ip
Four of the company's five employees, including the boss Ben Salter, were killed in an exclusive tailor's shop. As it turns out, the crime was committed with a hammer. Access to the company's premises was strongly secured, which makes the lack of any traces of a break-in all the more noticeable - so the perpetrator (s) must have been allowed to enter. The young employee Georgie Fox, who left the tailor's shop a few minutes before the murders to buy something to eat, is suspected of being the only survivor of the massacre. When questioned, she turns out to be rather unpleasant in character. As the tailor's premises had recently been renovated, the craftsman who carried out the work was asked, the carpenter Sly Driscoll. His hammers are confiscated, but no evidence of possible tools is found. Later, the investigation focuses on Salter's half-brother, Marcus, who is arrested and imprisoned. However, Salter manages to escape from a cell in an initially inexplicable manner. Meanwhile, historical crimes expert Edward Buchan examines an archive of historical crimes in the basement of the Whitechapel Police Station and discovers 200-year-old files on the Ratcliffe Highway murders of 1811 that have parallels to what happened in the tailoring shop.
8th 2 New Murders on Ratcliffe Highway (2) Case One (Part 2) Feb 6, 2012 Jan. 10, 2013 John Strickland Ben Court & Caroline Ip
Another multiple murder occurs according to the same pattern: except for Lola, the younger of the two daughters, the entire Emery family is killed with a hammer. Likewise, a sublet student is spared even though he was face to face with the perpetrator. And this time, too, there are no traces of any violent entry into the victims' apartment. And Lola Emery, like Georgie Fox, turns out to be of an unpleasant character. The suspected Marcus Salter can be picked up again. He managed to escape from the line because he was able to use his suggestive powers to persuade the police officer on duty to let him out of his cell. However, Salter is exonerated when a third multiple murder occurs: the members of a flat share , with the exception of one young woman, are slain. This survivor also turns out to be rather unpleasant in character. DI Chandler and his team suspect that the perpetrator committed the murders to punish the survivors for their behavior. Chandler re-examines the tailoring shop and finds a hidden basement room that must have been recently where someone must have been for a while. Apparently the perpetrator was among his victims, which explains that there was no evidence of forced entry. The investigation leads again to the carpenter Sly Driscoll, who was involved in renovating the homes in all three murders. However, he is nowhere to be found, from which Chandler concludes that he must already be in the house of his next victims. Eventually, one finds the home of a family that could fit into Driscoll's profile. While investigating the house, Driscoll observes the police from his hiding place behind a mirror. The hiding place is discovered and Driscoll tries to escape, but is pursued by Chandler through narrow secret passages of the house. When Driscoll is finally caught, he prefers to throw himself to death in a ventilation shaft. In his toolbox, the investigators find the murder weapon, a hammer whose head is stuck with blood and hair.
9 4th The Poison Mixer (1) Case Two (Part 1) Feb 13, 2012 Jan. 17, 2013 Richard Clark Ben Court & Caroline Ip
In Whitechapel at night a fox is seen carrying a human arm wrapped in a plastic bag in its snout. The forensic examination reveals that it is a woman's arm. The next morning, investigator DI Mina Norroy from Richmond calls on DI Chandler. She presents photos that document the discovery of a female torso that was recovered from the Thames . The torso is examined in forensic medicine and belongs to the same body as the arm. It also shows that the victim was poisoned, but the poison cannot be determined. In the hope of finding more body parts, Chandler and his team, reinforced by DI Mina Norroy, lay in wait at night to track down the fox and follow it to its construction. This succeeds and the burrow is located under a house. There is a left human foot in the burrow. Under the Insheeption suffering, confused elderly owner of the house is questioned. DI Miles accuses the woman of killing and dismembering the victim along with her husband, who allegedly left the house briefly. During a search of the trashed and trashed house, however, the mummified body of the husband who died a year ago is found, which means that the woman is no longer under suspicion. The foot found in the burrow is found to have been in the water for some time, like the arm and the torso. A section of the banks of the Thames is then searched in a large-scale operation, and another left foot is found.
10 3 The Poison Mixer (2) Case Two (Part 2) Feb 20, 2012 Jan. 17, 2013 Richard Clark Ben Court & Caroline Ip
After Buchan identifies the killer's modus operandi as that of the Marquis de Sade , who murdered women after poisoning them with an aphrodisiac , Chandler and Miles search for an individual who contacted a firm specializing in love potions by posing as a couple would have. This leads the team to the S&M Club The Hooded Crow, where Mina almost falls victim to a man with vampiric tendencies. Then two more victims are found, identical in size and appearance to the first two. Chandler overrules Mina and follows Miles' proposal to find Ella Bowe, who is still alive and gives them the key to the serial killer's identity.
11 5 Who's afraid of the black man (1) Case Three (Part 1) Feb. 27, 2012 Jan. 24, 2013 Jon East Ben Court & Caroline Ip
On the same night that a notorious murderer, Calum Mantis, escapes a mental hospital, DI Chandler and DS Miles have to solve a murder. Babysitter Sasha Lowood is murdered by a man dressed as a mythical bogeyman . Calum Mantus had killed his family in a similar manner. Police search Mantus' old house and find a poster of actor Lon Chaney from the film " London After Midnight ", who drove his audience insane. According to Dr. Mortlake was Mantus' favorite film. Psychiatrist Morgan Lamb is attacked in a parking garage but survives and is left with a pink ribbon around her neck. Edward Buchan, who knows Lamb professionally, tells Chandler that he barely has time to find the killer. When a black-clad man is cornered with a gun on a street, police believe they have found the man they are looking for, but police await a nasty surprise.
12 6th Who's afraid of the black man (2) Case Three (Part 2) March 5, 2012 Jan. 24, 2013 Jon East Ben Court & Caroline Ip
Another boy is killed. Like the last one and Sasha, he was in the same school as Mantus' sister. DS Miles is furious at the way DI Chandler is putting his life in danger. Chandler is convinced that Calvin Mantus was behind the murders, but Miles disagrees. When Morgan Lamb is attacked a second time, one of the detectives believes she might be working with the killer. Morgan survives the attack and injures her attacker, but she has no connection with classmates. DC Kent says she's hiding something. Miles believes Mantus isn't the killer, and the fact that the three victims all fell out with recently deceased caretaker Dave Watney seems to prove his point. Morgan helps Miles and Chandler deal constructively with their conflicts. The police are focused on finding a connection Lamb may have with the other victims.
