Johnny Harris
Johnny Harris (* 1974 in Lambeth , London ) is a British actor .
Life
He left school with no graduation to become a boxer at the age of 13. He won the Junior ABA National Boxing Title in 1989 at the age of 16. Between the ages of 17 and 20, he worked as a dishwasher in Paris . There he discovered his passion for literature and cinema. He returned to London and graduated from Lambeth Morley College after three years of acting .
Career
He began his career in numerous plays in London's theaters, then he got a permanent position at the Union Theater in Southwark . His first film starring role was in the short film Big , which won the Best Picture Award at the Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival .
In 2000 he was directed by Paul McGuigan for the film Gangster No. 1 and received the BAFTA Award for his performance in 2002. His breakthrough came in 2006 with his role in Paul Andrew Williams London to Brighton , which won a BAFTA Award . Since then, he has worked with directors including Steven Spielberg , Woody Allen , Shane Meadows , Terry Gilliam , Joe Wright and Guy Ritchie , receiving awards and nominations for Gangster No1 , London to Brighton , This is England and The South Bank Show . In 2009 he won the Acting Award at the Brest European Short Film Festival with the film Leaving from (2008).
In 2011 he starred as Valentine Neil in Jack Thorne's series The Fades , which received a Royal Television Society Award nomination for Best Television Drama.
In 2012 he starred in the film Snow White and the Huntsman and directed the film The Last Days on Mars with Eran Creevey , which was released in 2013.
