action

Nicky Burkett is released after serving a five-year prison term and returns to his neighborhood in Walthamstow, north London . The police officer George Hurlock is against his daughter Noreen's relationship with Burkett and harasses the man.

Burkett gets job offers from gangster Mickey Cousins ​​and Rameez, his sister Sharon's boyfriend. There is open rivalry between cousins ​​and Rameez. Burkett meets Kelly, with whom he has a son. Since Burkett needs money for his son, he ends up working for Vernon Fitch, which leads to acts of violence.

Derek Elley wrote in Variety magazine on November 2, 2000 that the film was "a surprisingly brilliant gangster comedy . " There is good chemistry between the multi-ethnic actors. The script is well-written and shows the characters' personalities, which is a rarity in contemporary British cinema ( "Script is a rare thing in current British cinema - well-worked and with personality and shape" ). The film could not appeal to North American as well as non-English speaking viewers.
